WATER QUALITY MONITORING

Ralston & Associates conducts water quality monitoring and water quality evaluations. Water quality investigations have included intensive monitoring for lake restoration programs, monitoring to evaluate effectiveness of waste treatment facilities, and prediction of water quality impacts of proposed hydroelectric projects. Continuous dissolved oxygen monitoring has been conducted at American Falls Dam, Milner Dam, Magic Reservoir, Auger Falls, Cascade Dam and Mason Dam.

Ralston & Associates especially equipped a boat, the Kathy G, to conduct extensive sediment sampling on the four lower Snake River reservoirs as well as McNary Reservoir on the Columbia River for the US Army Corps of Engineers. The design of the boat's boom and hydraulic winch allows rapid deployment and retrieval of sampling equipment. A spud sampler is used to determine the depth of sediment prior to determining the appropriate sampling device.
